Instagram launches Blend, a feature to make Reels more social

We’re all used to sending fun and interesting Reels to our friends via chats. However, what if we want to discover new Reels with our friends? This is where Blend comes in. It’s a feature that will let you create a custom feed of Reels for you and your friends to view together. The feed will refresh with new content each day.

When someone reacts to a Reel, the app will notify you. So, if you want to chit-chat about that in the group chat, you can. So, you will be able to introduce your friends and yourself to new content and talk about it. You’ll be able to get an idea of the kinds of Reels that your friends like to watch. You never know if you’ll discover your next favorite creator.

How to start a Blend

This feature is rolling out now, but there’s a chance that you won’t see it. We updated the Instagram app on our phones, but we weren’t able to access it just yet. To make sure that you have it, go to your phone’s app store, search for Instagram, and see if there’s an update on he app’s page. If so, then update your app.

After updating, go to (or start) a one-on-one conversation with a friend. Look at the top of the chat and look for the Blend icon. It should be right next to the phone icon.
