A world-class, next-generation industrial park will be developed on 600 acres in a phase-wise manner in Future City, Hyderabad, with the proposed investment of ₹1,000 crore by Marubeni Corporation, a leading Japanese industrial conglomerate with interests in energy, transport, real estate, industrial infra, metals, medical services and trading.

The industrial park will be dedicated for Japanese companies and other multinational companies to set up their manufacturing plants in Hyderabad and will attract major investments of over ₹5,000 crore.

The deal was signed on the first day of ‘TelanganaRising’ delegation visit to Japan. The delegation is led by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, who also held a meeting with electronic giant Sony Corporation representatives apart from the senior leadership of Marubeni Corporation.

Following discussions, Marubeni Corp conveyed their interest to establish a state-of-the-art next generation industrial park in the Future City and both sides signed and exchanged a Letter of Intent (LoI).

“The Marubeni industrial park will be among the first of its kind to be developed in the proposed ‘Future City’. It is expected to create 30,000 direct and indirect jobs, enriching livelihoods and enhancing the skill ecosystem in Telangana,” the Chief Minister said.

The Marubeni Industrial Park will focus on electronics, green pharma, precision engineering, aerospace and defence sectors, which are largely aligned with Telangana’s objective of attracting foreign investments in advanced manufacturing, and create skilled employment opportunities.

Promising personal support to ensure Marubeni has a world-class experience in doing business in Telangana, the Chief Minister said, “We are delighted to have Marubeni as a marquee investor for the Future City, India’s first city being designed to be a Net Zero city. We welcome Marubeni to Hyderabad, and given the friendship of India and Japan for centuries, I am sure you will find yourself at home when you come to Telangana.”

Dai Sakakura, Executive Officer and COO, Next Generation Business, Marubeni, expressed their desire to explore possibilities in Telangana.

Officers of the Sony Corporation showcased several new initiatives at Sony, and detailed their workings, including new products, to the delegation. The delegation also held detailed discussions on the animation subsidiary of the company, Crunchyroll.

The delegation explained the strengths of Hyderabad in the animation, VfX and gaming sectors. The Chief Minister outlined his vision on the setting up of a modern film city, which would have the capability of end-to-end production.
