Kerala BJP President Rajeev Chandrasekhar criticised Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan for claiming that the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and the Central government will target Catholic Church land following the successful passage of the Waqf Amendment Act.
Rahul Gandhi shared an article on X on Saturday, which claimed that the RSS had now shifted focus to Catholic Church land after the Waqf Bill was cleared in the Parliament. “I had said that the Waqf Bill attacks Muslims now but sets a precedent to target other communities in the future. It didn’t take long for the RSS to turn its attention to Christians,” Gandhi said in the post.
Following Gandhi’s statement, Vijayan said the RSS article about the church’s ownership of land “lays bare the Sangh Parivar’s deep-rooted antagonism towards minorities.” He further accused the RSS of targeting and isolating minorities and called for “secular forces” to unite in resistance.
Chandrasekhar lashed out at Rahul Gandhi’s response on X and said the “Constitution waving, India bashing” leader should learn the Constitution before using it for his “politics of lies”.
‘Congress Spreading Communal Poison’
“Every point made by each and every Cong MP during the Waqf debate about the constitution was a total lie – including that Art 25,13,14 will be violated by this act. LIES, LIES AND more shameless Lies. If Cong MPs were not protected by Parliamentary privilege, they would be prosecuted for Lies and spreading communal poison,” he said in a post.
One thing I recommend to Constititution waving , India bashing @RahulGandhi is that he reads, learns the constitution before he uses it for his #CongPoliticsOfLies.Indian Constitution is a sacred document, that enshrines rights of Indian including every Indians right to… https://t.co/YHwbVXjLHe

Speaking about the article on church land, the BJP leader said the journalist found it to be inaccurate and deleted it, adding that owning land is not a crime. “However, grabbing it from people as Cong leaders in Karnataka do and Waqf tried to do is wrong. Scamming people, lying to people, poisoning people with Lies, betraying people who vote for you etc. That is wrong. That is what Rahul Congress does,” he further said.
Chandrasekhar also mocked Vijayan for “jumping in a race for appeasement” and accused him of wrecking Kerala’s economy. “It takes a lot of political hubris for a CM – who has wrecked the states economy, put youth at the mercy of drugs and record joblessness and has been caught with a govt invested company shovelling money to his daughters “IT” company – to jump on Rahuls bandwagon to poison hearts and minds of people of Kerala. But it will not work.”
Jumping in a race for appeasement with alliance partner @RahulGandhi is @pinarayivijayan 😅It takes a lot of political hubris for a CM – who has wrecked the states economy, put youth at the mercy of drugs and record joblessness and has been caught with a govt invested company… https://t.co/89B3QLUwXU

His remarks came after the Kerala CM’s daughter was named in the Cochin Minerals and Rutile Limited (CMRL)-Exalogic case. According to the Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO), Veena Vijayan and her company were paid Rs 2.73 crore despite no services being rendered.
‘Utterly Shameless’
Further reacting to Rahul Gandhi’s remarks, Chandrasekhar said, “There is something utterly shameless about Rahul Gandhi’s politics. It is beyond shamelessness because the man and his party never stop lying and never stop trying to poison the minds of the minorities of Kerala and the minorities of India.”
“Every word these people used in the debate on the Waqf Bill was a lie…The people of Kerala are intelligent people. They will never fall for this type of politics anymore again, and it is a BJP/NDA solemn duty to expose them,” he further told news agency ANI.
The Waqf (Amendment) Bill, which seeks to alter the functioning of the Waqf board and properties, was passed in the Parliament after two marathon debates. It received the presidential approval late yesterday, which means it will officially become a law.
