Congress MLA from Station Ghanpur Kadiyam Srihari on Friday asserted that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has demonstrated the State government’s commitment to the welfare of the poor by introducing the ‘Sanna Biyyam’ (fine variety rice) distribution scheme for all eligible ration card holders.

Addressing a public meeting held after distributing rice at several villages in Zafferrgadh mandal, he termed the initiative a landmark in public distribution system (PDS) and added that the decision to provide fine variety rice to all the white ration card holders in the State was historic. “Chief Minister Revanth Reddy will remain in the hearts of the people for taking this revolutionary decision,” he said. “Despite the State facing financial constraints, the Congress government is giving high priority to welfare,” Mr. Srihari said.

Taking a dig at BRS former MLA Thatikonda Rajaiah, he said that development had taken a back seat. “However, since my election, I had been working to restore focus on development. In one year, projects worth ₹800 crore had been sanctioned, with foundation stones laid by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy,” he added.
